Certified Nursing Assistant PICU Children's Hospital Colorado vision insurance, parental leave, paid time off, 403(b) United States, Colorado, Aurora May 16, 2026 Apply for Job Job ID 105915 Location Aurora Position Type Regular Regular/Temporary Regular Add to Favorite Jobs Email this Job Job Overview The Certified Nursing Assistant (Clinical Assistant or CA) assists patients and families by supporting personal hygiene and daily living needs. The CA provides comfort, transportation, and vital sign monitoring. In addition, the CA supports and assists nursing personnel and other providers in diagnostic procedures and technical treatments and functions as a member of the healthcare team. The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) provides care for children with life-threatening illnesses as well as those who are at serious risk for life threatening complications. We care for children from birth to 21 years of age. Patients treated here are experiencing multi-organ system failure, acute and chronic pulmonary conditions, meningitis, septic shock, near drowning, diabetic ketoacidosis, renal and/or hepatic failure, oncology/bone marrow transplant or airway management, among other needs. Duties & Responsibilities Attends to the individual needs of patients, which may include assistance with grooming, bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, incontinent care, toileting, transferring, providing comfort and communicating patient needs with other members of the healthcare team. Performs various tasks as assigned, including checking vital signs, weighing patients, applying creams/ointments, applying/changing dressings and collecting specimens. Meets patient needs by utilizing resources and materials; transporting patients; answering patients' call lights and requests; and reporting observations of the patient to healthcare team members. Serves as a conduit between patients and other healthcare providers by recording and communicating all issues to medical team members. Documents actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records. Stores and prepares rooms and medical equipment for patient and healthcare team member use. Participates in departmental committees and projects as assigned.
Hours per week:
Full Time, 3-12hr shifts per week
Shift:
Nights (6:45pm - 7:15am)
Weekends:
6 weekend shifts in an 8 week schedule Minimum Qualifications Degrees High School diploma or GED Equivalency Proof of successful completion of health assessment and nursing foundation courses, in addition to basic medical/surgical clinical rotation in an accredited nursing program may be considered in lieu of designation as a CNA, MA and/or EMT. Licenses & Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association Certified Nurse Aide OR Emergency Med Tech - Basic OR Medical Assistant Salary Information Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.
Hourly Range:
$16.73 to $25.09
Expected Range:
