Job Description
Under the direct supervision of an RN carries out quality patient care from ages newborn to geriatric as well as Transitions-Post Acute Care (T-PAC) on an assigned unit according to hospital policies and procedures, functioning within the limitation of job scope, assuring patient comfort. Assures patient/family needs are met. Demonstrates knowledge of patient/staff safety measures. Provides for open communication within the unit, with patients, families, physician and other units. Under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse, carries out quality patient care according to hospital policies and procedures, functioning within the limitations of job scope. Participates in nursing reports by receiving and contributing to status reports of patients. Assists staff nurse with physical care of patients Assists staff nurses with patient monitoring and records observations accurately. Maintains skill level required to care for routine patients. Recognizes and appropriately reports changes in patient condition to the responsible nurse. Assures that Patient/Family needs are met. Makes rounds of the patient rooms and documents accordingly Assists with or transports patients as necessary. Keeps area adequately stocked with supplies. Recognizes and responds to priorities in patient care. Maintains timely documentation in EHR
