Nursing Assistant / Certified Nursing Assistant, PRN Med/Surg Nursing Department | Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center (AVRMC) Join a team that provides compassionate, hands-on care and makes a meaningful difference in patients' lives every day. Located just east of the Rocky Mountains, AVRMC proudly serves Southeastern Colorado with high-quality healthcare close to home. Position Summary As a Nursing Assistant/Certified Nursing Assistant, you will provide essential support to patients and nursing staff by delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. You will play a key role in meeting both the physical and emotional needs of patients while ensuring comfort, dignity, and safety. This is a PRN (as-needed) position within our Med/Surg Nursing Department. Key Responsibilities Patient Care and Support Provide basic nursing care within scope of practice Assist patients with activities of daily living, including feeding, hygiene, and mobility Support patients during admission, transfer, and discharge processes Maintain awareness of patient needs across pediatric, geriatric, and general populations Respond promptly to patient needs, including emergency or distress situations Monitoring and Communication Observe and report changes in patient condition to the RN Communicate clearly and effectively with nurses, physicians, and team members Explain care procedures to patients and families within scope of practice Support patient and family involvement in care Safety, Documentation and Compliance Maintain accurate and timely documentation per hospital standards Follow all safety, infection control, and confidentiality guidelines Operate equipment safely and correctly Provide care that respects patient dignity and privacy at all times Teamwork and Professionalism Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support patient care Maintain strong working relationships across departments Demonstrate flexibility, organization, and the ability to work under pressure Take initiative and show accountability in daily responsibilities Qualifications Required High School Diploma or equivalent Current BLS Certification within 30 days of hire Preferred Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license Why Join AVRMC We offer a supportive work environment where every employee plays an important role in our mission of providing extraordinary care—no matter their schedule.
