Duties Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote comfort and independence. Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature, accurately documenting all findings in electronic health record (EHR) systems. Support medical procedures by preparing patients, maintaining aseptic techniques, and assisting with tasks like catheter care and phlebotomy. Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or other memory impairments, ensuring safety and dignity at all times. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in settings like hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home care environments to deliver comprehensive patient care. Follow HIPAA guidelines strictly to protect patient confidentiality and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations. Utilize advanced skills such as working with EMR systems like Cerner or eClinicalWorks to document medical records accurately and efficiently. Qualifications Valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) from an accredited program. Experience working in diverse healthcare environments including long-term care, acute care hospitals, ICU or trauma centers, hospice or palliative care settings. Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and aseptic techniques essential for safe patient care. Familiarity with specialized areas such as Alzheimer's/dementia care, behavioral health support, pediatric or geriatric populations. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting with Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices; experience with mobility aids preferred. Proficiency in vital signs measurement and medication administration; certification in basic life support (BLS) is required. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams while maintaining a compassionate approach.
