Nursing Assistant Job Description Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nursing Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to patients in various settings, including nursing homes, urgent care, and teaching hospitals. This role is critical in ensuring the comfort and well-being of patients while assisting nursing staff with daily tasks. Duties Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding. Monitor and document patient vital signs and report any changes to nursing staff. Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, particularly in memory care and critical care environments. Maintain a clean and safe environment by following aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Assist in the transportation of patients within the facility as needed. Support nursing staff with medical documentation using systems like Cerner. Participate in patient care planning and implementation under the supervision of registered nurses. Help with basic medical procedures in inpatient settings, including emergency medicine when required. Requirements Completion of a Nursing Assistant training program or equivalent experience. Certification as a Nursing Assistant is preferred but not mandatory. Experience in nursing homes, urgent care, or critical care settings is highly desirable. Familiarity with medical documentation processes and electronic health record systems such as Cerner. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a healthcare team.
