Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nursing Assistant to provide high-quality patient care across various healthcare settings. The ideal candidate will support medical teams by assisting with daily patient needs, ensuring comfort, safety, and dignity. This role offers an opportunity to work in diverse environments such as hospitals, long-term care facilities, assisted living communities, and outpatient clinics. Experience with EMR/EHR systems and familiarity with medical terminology are highly valued. The Nursing Assistant plays a vital role in supporting patient recovery and well-being through attentive caregiving and clinical assistance. Duties Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts. Monitor and record vital signs accurately and report changes to nursing staff. Support medication administration following proper protocols and HIPAA regulations. Maintain aseptic techniques during procedures like catheter care, wound care, and other invasive tasks. Document patient information meticulously within EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or eClinicalWorks. Provide specialized care for patients with dementia, Alzheimer's, memory impairments, or behavioral health needs. Support patients requiring complex care including ICU, trauma center, pediatric (PICU), or post-acute settings. Assist with medical procedures such as phlebotomy or specimen collection when trained and certified. Educate patients and families about treatment plans, medication schedules, and health maintenance strategies. Ensure infection control practices are followed diligently to prevent the spread of infectious diseases. Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams in acute care, outpatient clinics, hospice, or home & community care environments. Requirements Valid certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) or equivalent licensure preferred. Proven experience in healthcare settings such as hospitals (including ICU or trauma centers), nursing homes, assisted living, or home care is highly desirable. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or eClinicalWorks is preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and aseptic techniques required. Experience working with diverse patient populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, behavioral health patients, or individuals with disabilities is advantageous. Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting (Hoyer lift), repositioning patients, and standing for extended periods. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare teams while maintaining HIPAA compliance. Critical thinking skills to respond promptly to patient needs in urgent or emergent situations such as emergency medicine or Level I Trauma Center scenarios. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to obtain certification required for some roles.
