Providing comprehensive eye care, including conducting eye exams, prescribing corrective lenses, managing eye disorders and assisting in surgical procedures when necessary. Responsibilities
  • Conduct patient assessments and provide appropriate medical treatment.
  • Providing pre-operative and post-operative care and monitoring surgical outcomes.
  • Assist in surgical procedures and wound care management.
  • Administer injections and medications as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive patient care.
  • Providing patient education and counseling on eye health and safety practices.
  • Understanding of ocular anatomy, eye diseases and vision assessment.
  • Proficiency in conducting comprehensive eye exams.
  • Effective communication and patient education skills are vital, as they interact with patients to explain diagnoses, treatment options and preventive measures.
  • Collaboration with ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals is crucial for providing coordinated eye care.
  • Attention to detail and precision are fundamental when interpreting diagnostic tests and assisting in surgical procedures.
  • Possess empathy and the ability to create a comfortable and reassuring environment for patients during eye exams and treatments.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Education/Qualifications:
  • Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Current Florida state licensure as a Physician Assistant.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing.
  • Master's or Doctoral degree in nursing.
  • Specialization in Ophthalmology or ophthalmic care.
