Job Description
Physician Assistant/Nurse Practicioner Jaffe Eye Institute
- 1.
- Conduct patient assessments and provide appropriate medical treatment.
- Providing pre-operative and post-operative care and monitoring surgical outcomes.
- Assist in surgical procedures and wound care management.
- Administer injections and medications as needed.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive patient care.
- Providing patient education and counseling on eye health and safety practices.
- Understanding of ocular anatomy, eye diseases and vision assessment.
- Proficiency in conducting comprehensive eye exams.
- Effective communication and patient education skills are vital, as they interact with patients to explain diagnoses, treatment options and preventive measures.
- Collaboration with ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals is crucial for providing coordinated eye care.
- Attention to detail and precision are fundamental when interpreting diagnostic tests and assisting in surgical procedures.
- Possess empathy and the ability to create a comfortable and reassuring environment for patients during eye exams and treatments.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Education/Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Current Florida state licensure as a Physician Assistant.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing.
- Master's or Doctoral degree in nursing.
- Specialization in Ophthalmology or ophthalmic care.
