Job Description:
Prepares monthly schedules for the assigned unit, ensuring coverage for all cases scheduled and add-on cases. Assists with performance appraisals, corrective actions, and counseling. Provides required documentation for personnel files in a timely manner. Utilizes time effectively and accomplish duties within the necessary timeframe with minimal supervision. Other duties as assigned. Communicates courteously with internal and external customers in person or on the telephone. Demonstrates respect for co-workers and develops positive working relationships with other departments. Participates in hourly rounding using the AIDET technique to improve patient outcomes. Incorporates Caring Model behaviors and culturally competent care into daily practice. Monitors staff compliance with customer service behaviors and reinforce hospital goals for service management. Adheres to organizational standards for dress and professional appearance. Collaborates and demonstrates teamwork in managing patient flow, promoting timely patient placement by following hospital policy for admission, discharge, and transfer. Assists the Nurse Leader or designee with updates and maintenance of unit records, reports, and forms.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Excellent organization and interpersonal communication skills
  • Basic computer skills, with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 suite of productivity tools
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Excellent time management skills to handle multiple concurrent tasks
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a positive and enthusiastic attitude
  • Ability to work well with people of varying levels of technical abilities
  • Demonstrates knowledge of organizational goals and accurately prioritizes work
  • Able to function in complex and challenging environments while maintaining the ability to influence change and assist in mutually beneficial solutions
  • Able to assist in program governance and ensure adherence to process controls in a timely and effective manner
Education:
  • Associate's of Nursing [Required]
  • Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]
Work Experience:
  • 1+ experience as rn in critical care or relevant specialty area [Preferred]
  • 1+ leadership experience [Preferred]
Licenses and Certifications:
  • Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]
  • Basic Life Support
  • CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
