Company Overview Saint Michael's Home Care is licensed by the State of Florida through the Agency of Health Care Administration (AHCA) as a Homemaker & Companion Service. We provide in-home, non-medical care to seniors and individuals requiring additional support with daily activities, emphasizing compassionate and dependable service to promote independence and quality of life. Overview We are seeking a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Home Health Aide (HHA) to join our team in the St. Augustine area. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference by providing personalized care to clients in their homes. The role involves assisting with daily living activities, monitoring patient health, and supporting overall well-being during morning hours from 8 am to 12 pm, three days a week. Responsibilities Provide compassionate assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support. Observe and document patient conditions accurately, noting any changes or concerns for medical records. Assist with medication administration following prescribed instructions and maintaining HIPAA compliance. Support clients with meal preparation, light housekeeping, laundry, and cleaning to ensure a safe and comfortable environment. Use EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems to record care activities and communicate effectively with healthcare teams. Operate medical equipment such as Hoyer lifts, blood pressure monitors, and thermometers to ensure patient safety. Maintain professionalism and confidentiality while working closely with clients who may have dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or other memory impairments. Skills Proven experience in patient observation, home health care, or long-term care settings. Knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration, catheter care, and hospice care practices. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for accurate documentation of patient records. Ability to work effectively with individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments such as dementia or Alzheimer's disease. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure client privacy and confidentiality. Excellent caregiving skills combined with patience, empathy, and positive communication. Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting using Hoyer lifts and assisting with mobility needs safely.
