Job Description
Job Summary Join our compassionate healthcare team as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) specializing in Hospice care. In this vital role, you will provide personalized, respectful, and dignified support to patients nearing the end of life, ensuring comfort and quality of life through attentive caregiving. Your energetic and empathetic approach will help create a calming environment for patients and their families during challenging times. Duties Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary. Provide emotional comfort and companionship to patients experiencing complex conditions such as dementia or memory care needs. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to each patient's unique needs, including those with Alzheimer's disease or other cognitive impairments. Maintain infection control standards by practicing proper aseptic techniques and managing infectious disease precautions diligently. Requirements Current certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) in good standing. Prior experience working in hospice or palliative care environments preferred; experience with long-term care, assisted living, nursing homes, hospitals (including ICU or trauma centers), or behavioral health settings is highly valued. Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support (BLS). Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR systems) such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation. Ability to work compassionately with individuals experiencing complex health issues such as dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or disabilities; experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus. Strong understanding of infection control practices and aseptic techniques required for safe patient care. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams in fast-paced environments like hospital medicine or urgent care settings.
