Job Description

Parkside at Budd Terrace is looking for a skilled weight CNA! The Weight CNA is responsible for accurately obtaining, documenting, and reporting resident weights in accordance with facility policies, physician orders, and regulatory requirements. This role supports the interdisciplinary team by monitoring residents for significant weight changes that may indicate changes in nutritional status, hydration, or overall health.
Shift:
7AM - 3PM Essential Duties and Responsibilities Obtain and record resident weights according to facility schedules and physician orders. Ensure weights are taken using proper equipment and standardized procedures. Verify the accuracy of weight measurements and promptly report discrepancies. Monitor residents for significant weight gains or losses and notify the licensed nurse immediately. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) or designated tracking system. Assist residents safely during transfers to and from scales, utilizing proper body mechanics and transfer equipment. Ensure weighing equipment is clean, functioning properly, and calibrated according to facility guidelines. Collaborate with nursing staff, dietitians, and other interdisciplinary team members regarding residents' nutritional and weight-related concerns. Respect resident dignity, privacy, and confidentiality at all times. Follow infection prevention and control procedures. Participate in resident care meetings and staff education as required. Perform other CNA duties and related responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications Required:
Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state of employment. Current CPR certification (if required by facility). Ability to safely assist residents with mobility and transfers. Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation skills. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
