Position Summary:
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides compassionate, non-medical support to individuals within their homes, helping them live safely, comfortably, and independently. This role includes assisting with activities of daily living such as hygiene, mobility, meal preparation, and household maintenance. The CNA also offers companionship, emotional support, and monitors the client's well-being—reporting any changes in condition to family members or healthcare professionals to ensure safety and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:

Personal Care Assistance:
Assist individuals with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and overall hygiene. Provide mobility support, including physical transfers (e.g., bed to chair). Assist with incontinence care and toileting routines. 2.
Medication Support:
Offer reminders for timely medication intake. Help organize medication schedules or pillboxes. Monitor for side effects and report any concerns to family or medical professionals. 3.
Meal Preparation and Nutrition:
Plan, prepare, and serve meals in accordance with dietary needs and preferences. Encourage proper nutrition and hydration habits. 4.
Light Housekeeping:
Perform household tasks such as vacuuming, dusting, dishwashing, and laundry. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized home environment. Ensure household supplies are stocked and accessible. 5.
Companionship and Emotional Support:
Engage clients in leisure activities, including reading, puzzles, or games. Foster social interaction and emotional well-being. Network with local organizations to promote community participation and access to social or recreational resources. 6. Transportation and Errands (If Applicable): Accompany or transport individuals to medical appointments, grocery stores, or social outings. Run errands, including prescription pick-ups or household shopping. 7.
Health and Wellness Monitoring:
Observe and document any physical, behavioral, or emotional changes. Maintain accurate logs of care routines and report significant observations promptly. 8.
Communication and Coordination:
Communicate regularly with families and supervisors regarding client status. Follow care plans and instructions provided by healthcare professionals.
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or GED required.
Experience:
Prior experience as a caregiver, home health aide, or in a related position. Ability to follow individualized care plans and directives from medical or family caregivers. Knowledge of personal care and home safety best practices. Demonstrated patience, empathy, and reliability.
Certifications and Requirements:
CPR or First Aid Certification.
CNA/HCA/PCA
Certification. Valid Driver's License (if transportation duties are required).
