Nursing Assistant Job Description Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nursing Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care in various settings, including assisted living facilities, home care environments, and teaching hospitals. This position requires a strong commitment to supporting patients with diverse needs, including those with developmental disabilities and infectious diseases. Responsibilities Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming. Provide support for mobility and transfers, ensuring patient safety at all times. Monitor and record vital signs, reporting any significant changes to nursing staff. Administer basic patient care tasks, including catheter care and assistance with durable medical equipment (DME). Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by following infection control protocols. Engage with patients in a compassionate manner, fostering a supportive atmosphere. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans. Educate patients and their families about health management and wellness practices. Requirements Previous experience in patient care or senior care is preferred. Familiarity with eClinicalWorks or similar electronic health record systems is a plus. Knowledge of infectious disease care practices is highly desirable. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is an asset. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team. A valid Nursing Assistant certification or equivalent training is required.
