Job Description
•$10,000 Sign-on Bonus•
SCHEDULE
Full-time; 36 hours per week; 7:00 pm - 7:00 am. Every third weekend The Medical/Surgical Team Lead RN is responsible for planning, directing, supervising and managing nursing activities in the delivery of quality, cost-effective patient care in the Medical/Surgical inpatient, outpatient, SNF and SCU areas. He/she coordinates Med/ Surg inpatient, outpatient, SNF and SCU activities and programs with other hospital services and involved physicians. He/she assumes shift clinical and management responsibility for the Med/Surg inpatient, outpatient, SNF and SCU areas. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, policies and procedures; quality improvement/quality assurance activities and membership in committees as assigned. Graduate from an approved professional Nursing Program. Current Iowa license. Current certification in Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support for RNs. At least one year of clinical experience including Medical-Surgical and SCU. Possesses technical skills and knowledge of equipment mechanisms necessary to deliver quality nursing care. Demonstrates knowledge of and commitment to policies and procedures of nursing service and the Hospital and Clinic. Demonstrates effective leadership and management skills. Supervises staff to assure quality patient care. Promotes and participates in Quality Improvement activities and goal planning. Addresses day-to-day departmental concerns, utilizing critical thinking and problem-solving techniques. Provides appropriate follow-up including variances.Enforces standards/regulations:
CAH, CMS and Safety. Serves as positive role model and resource person to staff. Provides input on performance appraisals. Assists with policy and procedure formulation and revision. Completes admission assessments and documentation as appropriate. Assures care plans are completed on admission. Reviews care plan per policy. Provides age appropriate care.Note:
