Nursing Assistant Job Description Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nursing Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to nursing staff and assist in delivering high-quality care to patients in various settings, including nursing homes, medical-surgical units, and urgent care facilities. This role is crucial in ensuring patient comfort and safety while promoting their overall well-being. Currently looking to fill 5pm-8pm and 9am ton1pm Monday through Friday and every other weekend, or Monday through Sunday 5pm-11pm. Duties Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding. Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and blood pressure. Provide basic patient care under the supervision of registered nurses or licensed practical nurses. Assist with mobility and transportation of patients within the facility. Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to infection control protocols. Document patient information accurately using electronic health record systems like Epic. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members regarding patient needs and changes in condition. Support phlebotomy procedures as needed and ensure proper handling of specimens. Skills Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology to understand patient needs effectively. Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to patient care. Experience in senior care or nursing home environments is preferred. Ability to work in inpatient settings and provide care in medical-surgical units. Proficiency in using electronic health record systems such as Epic is a plus. Excellent interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients and their families. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely. Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team while maintaining a positive attitude.
