- Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts.
- Monitor and record vital signs accurately.
- ensuring proper documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide specialized care for patients with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, including memory care techniques and behavioral health support.
- Assist healthcare professionals during medical procedures such as phlebotomy or catheter care while maintaining aseptic techniques.
- Ensure patient safety by adhering to infection control protocols and using appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
- Document patient observations thoroughly and accurately in medical records to support ongoing treatment plans.
Collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams in settings ranging from acute care units to outpatient clinics and home & community care environments. Requirements Valid certification as a Kansas Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with current licensure in the relevant jurisdiction. Prior experience working in healthcare environments such as hospitals (including ICU or Level I Trauma Centers), nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or post-acute care settings. Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support procedures. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or behavioral health needs is preferred. Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks involving patient transfer equipment like Hoyer lifts safely and effectively. Strong communication skills coupled with compassionate caregiving qualities focused on patient comfort and dignity. Knowledge of infection control practices including aseptic technique and infectious disease care protocols.
