Job Description

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)Position Summary The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) serves as an essential member of the clinical team, providing support to physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and patients. The CNA is responsible for preparing patients for their visit, maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical records, ensuring exam rooms are clean and stocked, and assisting in delivering a positive patient experience. Attention to detail, efficiency, and excellent communication are critical to success in this role. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPatient Care Welcome and room patients in a warm, professional, and timely manner. Obtain and document vital signs, height, weight, and other pertinent information. Review and update patient medical histories, medications, allergies, and pharmacy information. Prepare patients for examination and procedures. Communicate patient concerns and abnormal findings to the nurse or provider promptly. Assist patients with questions and ensure they feel comfortable and informed throughout their visit. Medical Record Documentation Maintain accurate, complete, and timely documentation in the electronic medical record. Verify patient information and ensure charts are updated before the provider enters the room. Pay close attention to details to ensure accuracy and avoid errors. Protect patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations. Exam Room and Supply Management Clean and disinfect exam rooms between patients according to office policies and infection control standards. Stock exam rooms and clinical supply areas to ensure necessary supplies are readily available. Monitor inventory levels and notify appropriate staff when supplies are low. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional clinical environment. Team Support Work closely with physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, and front office staff to ensure efficient patient flow. Assist with other duties as assigned. Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to support coworkers and meet the needs of the practice. Qualifications Current
CNA / CMA
certification required. CPR certification preferred. Previous medical office or OB/GYN experience preferred, but not required. Basic computer and electronic medical record skills. Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Key Characteristics for Success Exceptional attention to detail. Core Expectation Attention to detail is of utmost importance in this position. Small errors can significantly affect patient care. The successful CNA consistently demonstrates accuracy, thoroughness, and a commitment to providing excellent care and support to every patient and every member of the team.
