The Certified Medication Aide (CMA) is responsible for assisting in the administration of medications to residents as ordered by the attending physician, under the direction of the department director. The administration of medications shall be in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations governing the Community and as may be required by the department director or supervisor to ensure the highest degree of quality care is maintained. Advances the value that the resident comes first. The employee values the Community as the residents' home and works to create attributes of home and models person centered care. A Transportation Assistant is responsible for transporting residents to appointments, activities and events in a timely and safe manner and in accordance with the laws of this state. Provides resident transportation to and from appointments, activities and events on and off Community property. Assists residents in boarding and exiting the vehicle and into appointment or activity. Transfers residents using appropriate safety equipment and procedures. Observes and describes resident behavior and status. Reports pertinent changes to the charge nurse and in documenting properly. Maintains vehicle(s) in a clean and safe manner. Performs safety inspections on vehicles prior to transporting residents and reports unsafe or defective vehicles/equipment. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and/or
TRAINING
Must hold a current Certified Medication Aide certificate in accordance with laws of the state. Possesses extensive driving experience, preferably with larger passenger vehicles. Must possess and maintain a superior accident-free record both in the performance of work duties and personal driving. Must be 21 years of age or older and have a valid driver's license.
