In this vital role, you will provide compassionate assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities, seniors, and residents in various long-term care settings. Your energy and positive attitude will help enhance the quality of life for those you serve, ensuring they receive respectful, personalized care. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference every day while developing your caregiving skills in a supportive environment. Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to promote independence and dignity Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure residents' health and safety Support residents with memory care needs, including Alzheimer's and dementia care strategies, to foster a safe and comforting environment Administer medications accurately following prescribed protocols and maintain detailed documentation using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems Operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts for safe transfers and mobility support Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements and assist with feeding when necessary Engage residents through social activities, behavioral management techniques, and community outings to promote social well-being Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties within resident rooms and common areas Support residents' participation in community activities or outings using driving privileges where applicable Document care activities thoroughly and communicate effectively with team members to ensure continuity of care Qualifications Prior experience in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home & community care is highly preferred Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia management, and memory care techniques is desirable Certification or training in first aid is advantageous; willingness to obtain certification if not already held Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities in general is a plus Ability to accurately take vital signs and administer medications following established protocols Strong caregiving skills with a compassionate approach to resident support Familiarity with EMR systems for documentation purposes Valid driver's license for driving duties related to resident outings or appointments (if applicable) Join us in creating a caring community where every individual receives respectful support tailored to their unique needs!
