Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our Emergency Room (ER) night shift team. In this vital role, you will provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, assisting medical staff with essential duties to ensure patient safety, comfort, and well-being. Your energy and attention to detail will help us deliver exceptional emergency care around the clock. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a critical care setting, making a meaningful difference in patients' lives during their most vulnerable moments. Responsibilities Assist registered nurses and physicians with patient assessments, vital signs, and basic medical procedures using EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems such as Cerner or eClinicalWorks. Provide direct patient care including hygiene assistance, mobility support with Hoyer lifts, catheter care, and medication administration under supervision. Monitor patients' conditions closely, recognizing signs of distress or deterioration and reporting promptly to the healthcare team. Maintain accurate medical documentation, including vital signs, patient records, and clinical notes while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Support infection control protocols through aseptic techniques and proper handling of infectious disease cases. Assist with patient transfers and positioning using appropriate equipment like Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices. Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams in acute care, trauma centers, ICU settings, or behavioral health units to ensure seamless patient care. Requirements Valid CNA certification with current licensure; prior experience working in emergency medicine or Level I/II trauma centers is highly preferred. Demonstrated experience in critical care environments such as
ICU, PICU
(Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), or post-acute care settings including hospice or long-term care facilities. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and aseptic techniques essential for safe patient handling. Experience working with diverse populations including individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia (Alzheimer's and memory care), behavioral health needs, or pediatrics. Ability to perform phlebotomy and basic life support (BLS) certification is advantageous. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently during night shifts in high-pressure situations.
