Emergency Services Assistant (Nursing Assistant)

Emergency Services Assistant Facilitates patient flow and customer satisfaction as the front-line support staff of the Emergency Department ambulatory entrance.

Description :

Emergency Services Assistant Other duties may be assigned. Practices according to entity mandatory requirements. Practices according to department expectations. Practices with a Customer Service approach to all activities. Provides care for patients according to facility/agency, JCAHO and the law. Provides care as part of the interdisciplinary team. Documents according to facility/agency and department policies. Prioritizes duties according to patient and department needs. Meets the needs of the patient/family using internal and external resources. Uses appropriate physical resources/equipment in a safe manner. Maintains appropriate licenses, certifications, registrations required to perform duties of their designated role/position. Addresses age-specific needs of infants, toddlers, school age, adolescents, adults, older adults. Performs role in a responsible manner taking into account customer service initiatives. Provides care for patients according to facility, JCAHO and the law. Provides care as part of an interdisciplinary team. Performs specialized procedures as required by specific unit. Uses sterile techniques as necessary. Uses appropriate physical resources (equipment and supplies) in a safe manner. Performs other duties as requested. 00289 Ability to read, write and communication in English Possess a High school Diploma or equivalent (GED) Must meet at least one of the following qualifications: a) Completed a Nursing Assistant Program or equivalent b) Completed an EMT Program c) Completed an LPN Program d) Completed at least one year of Nursing School Program which includes two semesters of clinical practice e) Military corps person Possess a Current Basic Life Support Certification Successfully pass the Falmouth Hospital written competency exam for Nursing Assistant Obtain CPI Certification within 4 months from hire and must maintain recertification bi-annually.
