2 Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN First Assist for a hospital Operating Room in Massachusetts with an active MA RN license and advanced peri-operative skills. Details Work in the Operating Room of a hospital setting Primary responsibilities include first assisting and occasionally circulating in surgical procedures Schedule consists of 4x10 hour shifts, 07:00-17:30 Call required two evenings per week and one full weekend every three weeks Uses Epic EMR for charting Requirements Active MA RN license required; no pending or conditional licenses accepted Completion of an RN First Assisting (RNFA) course conforming to AORN Core Curriculum required Minimum five years of peri-operative nursing experience with both scrubbing and circulating proficiency Current BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA required Graduate of an approved School of Nursing Additional Information Assist surgeons in a lead role until the conclusion of operative procedures Must reside more than 60 miles from Massachusetts General Hospital to receive the standard pay rate; local candidates receive a reduced rate Flu vaccination is required with no exceptions for medical or religious reasons Parking is not validated; public transportation or paid public parking is required Dress code and scrub requirements consistent with hospital standards
