Job Description
The primary focus of the transportation aide is to ensure safe transport of the child to medical appointments, while relaying necessary information both to the medical provider and to the nursing staff. Supervises children while in the community on medical appointments. Assist with functions for remote sites as needed. Provide training to fellow employees as needed.
JOB DUTIES
Safely provides transportation to medical appointments in a timely manner. Relay medical information to the medical provider, as well as, the nursing staff. Supervise and oversee children during transport; know the whereabouts of all children in your care; ensure performance of daily self-care tasks and assist children as needed. Provide minor first aid treatment as necessary. Schedules appointments for children, collecting the appropriate data and completing the necessary documentation. Maintains the child's record as directed by medical nursing staff. Order medical supplies, restock the units and nursing office and assist with the medication packing process, as requested. Communicate with children in care in a manner that demonstrates sensitivity to the diagnostic and clinical needs of the child. Information is clear, both in written and oral form.Crisis Intervention:
Fully perform restraints as necessary when ordered by a licensed professional using the current approved KidsPeace restraint methodology on youth who may weigh in excess of 250 pounds and who are verbally or physically threatening or otherwise presenting a threat to themselves or others. Collect and input necessary medical data and complete reports as requested.QUALIFICATIONS
