Job Description

Job Description We are a boutique plastic surgery practice committed to offering unparalleled standards of care and quality with deep Maine roots for over four decades. We are currently seeking a bright, polished, dedicated, high-energy medical assistant for our growing multi-physician plastic surgery practice. The Medical Assistant will provide quality, compassionate patient care by assisting our physicians within a clinical setting, walking patients through their journey from initial appointment through surgery and post-operative care. OR, Dental, Medical Experience Preferred.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist physician with patient examinations and office procedures (suture removal, set-up for minor surgeries, and circulate in OR etc.)
  • Clean examination rooms
  • Ensure examination rooms are fully stocked
  • Sterilize equipment
  • Record patient and testing information
  • Manage patient flow
  • Dressing changes
  • Room patients, including setup and teardown
  • Take & record vital signs
  • Accurate charting (EMR)
  • Provide accurate and complete pre- and post-operative instructions
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager.
Job Requirements 1 year of experience in a clinical position with demonstrated competency in performing skills such as: obtaining vital signs, routine charting, aseptic technique and infection control guidelines or the completion of an accredited medical assistant program. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to develop rapport and maintain positive, relationships with a variety of patients, staff and physicians. Proficient PC skills with exposure to electronic medical records systems. Ability to work in a very fast-paced environment Ability to work flexible hours, typically M-F Assists in the maintenance of all logs and records for OSHA and AAAA Adheres to and follows sterilization and disinfection practices throughout the facility. Adheres to bio-hazardous or red bag waste policy and procedure for proper disposal of biomedical waste.
