Job Overview Join our compassionate healthcare team as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) specializing in Hospice care. In this vital role, you will provide personalized, respectful support to patients nearing the end of life, ensuring comfort, dignity, and quality of life. Your dedication will help families navigate challenging times with empathy and professionalism. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives while working within a dynamic and supportive environment. Responsibilities Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote comfort and independence. Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates, accurately documenting all patient information within electronic health record (EHR) systems. Support medication administration under the supervision of nursing staff, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and proper documentation. Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and their families, respecting cultural preferences and individual needs. Assist with specialized care procedures such as catheter care, wound care, or oxygen therapy as directed by nursing staff. Maintain a safe environment by using proper aseptic techniques and infection control practices in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement personalized care plans focused on comfort and dignity. Requirements Valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with current licensure in the applicable state. Experience working in hospice or palliative care settings is highly preferred; experience in critical care, long-term care, or hospital environments is advantageous. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for accurate medical documentation. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support (BLS) procedures. Ability to work compassionately with individuals facing complex health challenges including dementia, Alzheimer's disease, memory care needs, or behavioral health conditions. Demonstrated competence in patient service skills such as vital signs monitoring, catheter care, phlebotomy (if certified), and medication administration. Strong communication skills coupled with the ability to work independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team. Physical ability to assist with patient transfers using equipment like Hoyer lifts or other mobility aids; experience with senior care or assisted living environments is beneficial. $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
