Employee Work/Life Balance -Every monday off paid Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) specializing in Hospice care to join our healthcare team. This role involves providing high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals in their final stages of life, ensuring comfort, dignity, and respect. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various healthcare settings, including long-term care, acute care, and specialized hospice environments, with proficiency in medical documentation and patient care techniques. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives while working within a supportive and professional team. Responsibilities Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts. Monitor and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed under the supervision of nursing staff. Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and their families during hospice care. Maintain detailed medical documentation using EMR/EHR systems while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Support patients with specialized needs such as Alzheimer's/dementia care, memory care, or behavioral health issues. Assist with catheter care, wound care, and other clinical procedures following aseptic techniques. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans. Educate family members on patient needs and provide guidance on home safety and medication management. Ensure infection control protocols are strictly followed to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff. Qualifications Valid CNA certification with current licensure in good standing. Experience or familiarity with hospice care, palliative care, or end-of-life services preferred. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or eClinicalWorks is advantageous. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support procedures. Experience working in diverse healthcare settings including hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home health environments. Ability to work compassionately with patients experiencing complex conditions such as dementia/dementia-related illnesses or behavioral health issues. Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Physical ability to assist with patient mobility and perform clinical tasks requiring lifting or repositioning equipment. Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
