Job Description:
Position Summary The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides direct and indirect resident care under the supervision of licensed nursing staff. The CNA assists residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) while promoting comfort, dignity, and quality of life in a long-term care setting. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Assist residents with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting Provide assistance with mobility, including transfers, repositioning, and ambulation Take and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure) Assist with feeding and monitor nutritional intake Observe and report changes in residents' condition to nursing staff Maintain accurate documentation of care provided Provide emotional support and companionship to residents Ensure a clean, safe, and comfortable environment Respond promptly to call lights and resident needs Follow infection control and safety procedures Assist with admissions, discharges, and post-mortem care as needed Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred Current CNA certification in the state of employment Previous long-term care experience preferred but not required Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff Certifications (Required) Active CNA certification CPR certification (preferred or required per facility) Physical Requirements Ability to lift, move, and assist residents (up to 50+ lbs with assistance) Prolonged standing, walking, bending, and lifting Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations Work Environment Long-term care / skilled nursing facility Exposure to infectious diseases, bodily fluids, and medical conditions May require weekends, holidays, and shift work (days, nights, weekends) Key Skills Compassion and patience Attention to detail Strong communication and teamwork Time management Dependability and professionalism
