Job Description
Certified Nursing Assistant (Home Health Aide) - St. Louis, MOJob Description Certified Nursing Assistants are responsible for providing direct care and support to clients in their homes throughout the St. Louis area. CNAs help clients remain safe, comfortable, and as independent as possible by assisting with daily activities and following individualized care plans developed by the clinical team. In this role, you will assist with personal care, mobility, and basic health monitoring while offering companionship and emotional support. You will work independently in the home setting, traveling to clients within St. Louis City and County and communicating regularly with office and clinical staff. The ideal candidate is reliable, professional, and patient‑centered, with a strong commitment to dignity, respect, and quality of care. You should be comfortable working one‑on‑one with clients, able to follow written care plans, and willing to collaborate with families and the interdisciplinary team to support client goals. Duties and Responsibilities Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and other activities of daily living Assist clients with safe mobility, positioning, transfers, and ambulation per the care plan Support clients with simple meal preparation, feeding assistance, and light housekeeping related to client care Take and record vital signs as directed and observe client condition during each visit Promptly report any changes or concerns in client status to the supervising nurse or office staff Maintain accurate, timely documentation of all care and services provided Follow individualized care plans and agency policies to ensure safe, respectful, and high‑quality care Offer companionship and emotional support while promoting client dignity, comfort, and independence Travel to client homes throughout the St. Louis area and arrive on time for all scheduled visits Communicate professionally with clients, family members, supervisors, and other members of the care team Adhere to infection control, confidentiality, and safety standards at all times Qualifications and Requirements Active, unencumbered Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the state of Missouri. Ability to successfully pass a criminal background check. Current TB test or willingness to complete required TB screening prior to or upon hire, in accordance with agency policy and healthcare employment standards. Reliable transportation to travel to client homes throughout the St. Louis area. Ability to lift, transfer, and assist clients safely, as needed for the role. Strong communication skills and a professional, respectful demeanor with clients and families. Dependable attendance and ability to follow assigned schedules and individualized care plans.
