Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide essential direct patient care, assist with daily activities, and support the overall well-being of our diverse patient population. Responsibilities Deliver hands-on patient care by assisting with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary. Monitor and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates, ensuring timely documentation in electronic health record (EHR) systems. Support medication administration under supervision, following strict aseptic techniques and HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy. Assist with specialized care needs including dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, behavioral health support, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities. Maintain a safe environment by adhering to infection control protocols, proper use of PPE, and practicing aseptic techniques during procedures such as catheter care or phlebotomy. Collaborate effectively with nurses, physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care across inpatient, outpatient, long-term care, assisted living, or home care settings. Demonstrate proficiency in EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation and medical records management. Requirements Valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in accordance with state regulations. Prior experience working in diverse healthcare environments such as hospitals (including ICU or Level I Trauma Centers), nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home & community care is highly preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support (BLS). Experience with medical-surgical procedures, infection control practices, and working with individuals with disabilities or behavioral health needs. Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations such as emergency medicine or urgent care environments. Strong communication skills coupled with a compassionate attitude toward patient service and caregiving roles. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided if needed.
