21 POSITION SUMMARY The Team Lead is responsible for fostering a nurturing patient-centered environment while ensuring high-quality care and compliance with regulatory standards. This role includes but is not limited to mentoring CNAs, coordinating training, auditing documentation, and collaborating with leadership for development and implementation of policies and procedures. The Team Lead serves as a liaison between staff and leadership, promoting teamwork, accountability, and excellence in resident care.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Staff Mentorship & Training Mentors new CNAs during orientation and throughout their employment. Conducts one-on-one coaching sessions to build staff confidence and competence. Coordinates and facilitate ongoing CNA training programs. Oversees completion of CNA training checklists. Provides guidance and support for staff during daily tasks and challenges. Participates in the hiring and interview process for CNA candidates. Ensures staff compliance with continuing education and certification renewals. Assists with disciplinary action in conjunction with Unit Leadership, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies and procedures. Charting & Documentation Oversight Audits charting regularly to ensure accuracy and completeness. Participates in chart audits and documentation reviews. Ensures compliance with state regulations and documentation standards. Scheduling & Staffing Coordination Adjusts schedules as needed to maintain appropriate staffing levels. Assists with CNA calendar maintenance, vacation coverage, and sick call coverage. Coordinates assignments and daily task distribution for CNAs. Ensures adequate coverage for resident care needs and assists in care management processes. Policy & Practice Development Collaborates with Leadership to review and create policies and procedures. Ensures practices align with Assisted Living Regulations and organizational standards. Participates in state survey preparations and inspections. Resident Care & Engagement Routinely rounds on residents to assess care quality and build relationships. Participates in community activities, including meal service and social events. Assists with admissions and care plan meetings. Monitors and reports changes in residents' physical or emotional condition to nursing staff. Ensures cleanliness and hygiene of resident rooms and common areas. Supports infection control practices, including proper hand hygiene and use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Schedule The Team Lead position includes: Shift coverage requirements in addition to administrative duties every week, which may include training coordination, documentation audits, policy development, staff mentorship in addition to other assigned tasks. Administrative Support Maintains inventory of medical supplies and equipment. Assists with communication regarding facility upkeep and cleanliness. Assists in coordinate new hire paperwork and employee evaluations. Customer Service & Mission Support Upholds St. John's customer service standards: Makes eye contact and smile Greets and welcome everyone Provides immediate service and listen actively Uses appropriate body language Acts gracious and respectful
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Requirements Prior CNA experience preferred. Montana CNA certification required. Current Med Aid Certification or ability to obtain within one year of hire Skills & Abilities Strong written, verbal, and observational skills. Excellent interpersonal and organizational abilities. Basic computer proficiency. Ability to work independently and solve problems using sound judgment. Physical Demands & Working Conditions Must be able to lift 25-lbs regularly and up to 50-lbs occasionally. Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and bending. Exposure to outdoor elements, animals, and home-like environments. Potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens and other healthcare-related risks.
