M-F, 6-8
hour per day-10 minutes outside of Boone city limits•Overview Join our dedicated healthcare team as a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) / Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), where your compassionate care and attention to detail will make a meaningful difference in patients' lives. In this vital role, you will provide essential support to nursing staff and directly assist patients across various care settings, including hospitals, long-term care facilities, assisted living communities, and home care environments. Your energy and commitment will help foster a safe, comfortable, and healing environment for those in need of personalized care. Responsibilities Deliver direct patient care by assisting with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts. Monitor and record vital signs, observe patient conditions, and report changes promptly to nursing staff. Support patients with specialized needs including Alzheimer's and dementia care, memory care, behavioral health support, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities. Assist with medical procedures such as catheter care, medication administration under supervision, phlebotomy tasks, and maintaining aseptic techniques. Document patient information accurately using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Maintain a safe environment by following infection control protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams in inpatient, outpatient, or home & community care settings to deliver comprehensive patient service. Skills Proven experience working in diverse healthcare environments such as hospitals (including ICU, trauma centers, PICU), nursing homes, hospice, or outpatient clinics. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks or similar platforms for medical documentation. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and vital signs monitoring. Expertise in caring for patients with complex needs such as acute or chronic conditions including infectious disease care or behavioral health issues. Ability to perform technical skills like catheter care, medication administration, and basic life support certification. Experience working with children or seniors in settings like assisted living or geriatrics is highly valued. Excellent caregiving skills combined with compassion for patients facing cognitive challenges like Alzheimer's or dementia.
