The ideal candidate must have experience working with clients who require total care assistance, mobility support, repositioning, personal care, and close monitoring for safety and comfort. This position requires a caregiver who is patient, attentive, physically capable, and committed to maintaining the dignity, comfort, and overall well-being of the client. Responsibilities and Duties The CNA will provide direct hands-on care and assistance with all activities of daily living (ADLs), including but not limited to: Providing complete personal care assistance, including bathing, dressing, grooming, oral hygiene, shaving, skin care, and toileting/incontinence care Assisting with diaper changes and maintaining proper hygiene to prevent skin breakdown and infections Repositioning and turning bedridden clients every two hours or as directed in the care plan to prevent pressure ulcers and bed sores Performing safe transfers using gait belts, Hoyer lifts, transfer boards, or other mobility equipment as needed Assisting with feeding and monitoring food and fluid intake Monitoring and documenting vital signs, intake/output, weights, and any changes in the client's condition Assisting with passive range-of-motion exercises to maintain mobility and circulation Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe environment for the client Changing bed linens, making occupied beds, laundry, and light housekeeping related to the client's care Providing companionship, emotional support, and reassurance to the client Observing and reporting changes in physical, emotional, behavioral, or mental condition to the supervising nurse or agency staff immediately Ensuring proper infection control and safety procedures are followed at all times Assisting with medication reminders in accordance with agency policies Responding appropriately during emergencies and following all emergency protocols including CPR procedures Maintaining accurate daily documentation and visit notes Following the individualized care plan and agency policies and procedures Required Qualifications Candidates must meet the following requirements: Active CNA certification in the State of North Carolina Current CPR certification Minimum of one (3) year experience providing care for bedridden, total-care, hospice, or high-acuity clients preferred Experience with: Bedridden client care Incontinence care Transfers and repositioning Hoyer lifts and mobility assistance Pressure sore prevention Ability to safely lift, reposition, push, and transfer clients with or without assistance Must be physically capable of bending, stooping, standing for extended periods, and lifting up to 80 pounds Strong communication and observation skills Ability to work independently and follow care plans accurately Reliable transportation and valid driver's license Must pass background check and drug screening Compassionate, professional, dependable, and patient demeanor Preferred Skills Hospice or palliative care experience Experience with feeding assistance and aspiration precautions Knowledge of infection control procedures Experience documenting in EVV or electronic charting systems Schedule Full-Time Day, evening, overnight, and weekend shifts available Why Join Vitalguard Homecare?
