In this vital role, you will provide exceptional patient care across a variety of settings, including hospitals, long-term care facilities, assisted living communities, and home care environments. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will ensure that patients receive safe, respectful, and personalized support throughout their recovery or daily living. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with diverse healthcare needs. Responsibilities Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility using equipment like Hoyer lifts and other assistive devices Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature, ensuring accurate medical documentation in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems Support medication administration under supervision, adhering to strict aseptic techniques and HIPAA regulations to safeguard patient confidentiality Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, including memory care strategies and behavioral health support Collaborate with nursing staff to deliver comprehensive patient service in medical-surgical units, critical care settings such as ICU or Level I Trauma Centers, and post-acute or sub-acute care environments Assist with catheter care, wound dressing changes, phlebotomy procedures, and other clinical tasks requiring detailed anatomy knowledge and physiology expertise Maintain a safe environment by following infection control protocols for infectious disease care and practicing proper aseptic techniques during all patient interactions Experience Candidates should possess prior experience working in diverse healthcare settings such as hospitals (including emergency medicine and ICU), nursing homes, hospice care, outpatient clinics, or home & community care. Experience with EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or eClinicalWorks is highly valued. A background in caring for individuals with disabilities or behavioral health needs is preferred. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in vital signs measurement, medical terminology, medication administration, catheter care, and basic life support certification. Prior exposure to geriatrics, pediatrics (including working with children), trauma centers (Level I & II), or specialized units such as PICU or OR is advantageous. A strong commitment to patient service excellence and adherence to HIPAA standards is essential for success in this role.
