As a vital member of the caregiving team, you will provide essential support to patients, assist with daily activities, and ensure a safe, comfortable environment. Your expertise will help promote patient well-being and foster a nurturing atmosphere for individuals of all ages and needs. Responsibilities Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and comfort. Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates accurately and report any abnormalities promptly. Support medical teams by preparing patients for procedures, assisting with transfers using equipment like Hoyer lifts, and ensuring proper positioning. Maintain detailed medical documentation within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or other memory impairments through tailored activities and attentive supervision. Administer medications under supervision following prescribed protocols and document medication administration meticulously. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in acute care environments like Level I Trauma Centers or ICU units to deliver high-quality patient service. Support infection control practices using aseptic techniques during procedures such as catheter care or phlebotomy. Engage in patient education on health management topics relevant to geriatrics, pediatrics, or behavioral health needs. Utilize medical terminology confidently to communicate effectively with healthcare professionals and document patient progress clearly. Qualifications Valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in accordance with state requirements. Experience working in diverse healthcare settings including hospitals (ICU, emergency medicine), nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home care environments. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks or similar platforms for accurate documentation. Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and basic life support (BLS) certification is highly desirable. Prior experience caring for individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral health conditions is a plus. Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting using Hoyer lifts and assisting with mobility aids safely.
