  • Responsibilities
  • Provide assistance with basic health care needs including bathing, grooming, toileting, and eating, while supporting emotional and spiritual needs
  • Record vital statistics, blood glucose levels, and other basic health information
  • Assist with patient transfers and ambulation
  • Perform clerical work related to scheduling and documenting patient healthcare
  • Prepare and clean patient treatment areas, living areas, and medical equipment
  • Dispose of biomedical waste in accordance with standards and policy
  • Job Summary
  • The Nursing Assistant (NA) serves as caregiver to the patient during the scheduled work period.
The NA provides patient-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned patient under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).   • Qualifications
  • High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required.
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is preferred. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications. If working in North Dakota (ND) or Minnesota (MN) and not a Certified Nursing Assistant, must be on the NA Registry as a Nursing Assistant through the North Dakota Dept. of Health or through the Minnesota Dept. of Health within four months from the date of hire. If working in Wisconsin, must be on the Wisconsin Nurse Aid Registry with current work eligibility.
