Job Description
The Nursing Assistant provides direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse. This role is essential in ensuring patient comfort, safety, and dignity by assisting with activities of daily living, monitoring patient conditions, and supporting clinical operations.
Principal Accountabilities:
Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility Measure and record vital signs, intake/output, and other observations as assigned Respond promptly to patient calls and requests for assistance Assist with patient transfers, ambulation, and positioning using proper body mechanics Maintain a safe, clean, and organized patient environment Report changes in patient condition to the licensed nursing staff in a timely manner Support nurses and clinical staff with procedures and routine patient care tasks Follow infection control, safety, and confidentiality policies at all times Provide compassionate, respectful care to patients and families
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English Physical ability to perform job duties, including standing, lifting, and assisting patients Preferred Qualifications Completion of a Nursing Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training program Current Nursing Assistant certification and/or CNA license Previous experience in a hospital, long-term care, rehabilitation, or clinical setting Strong interpersonal and customer service skills Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment Flexible schedule availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays
