Company Overview Luna Vista Home Hospice is a Medicare Certified Hospice Agency dedicated to providing high-quality, compassionate care in the comfort of patients' homes. As a family-owned business, we focus on supporting individuals to maintain independence and improve their quality of life through personalized care plans created by our skilled professionals. Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Hospice Aide- CNA to join our team. This role involves delivering essential personal and medical care to patients receiving hospice services, ensuring comfort, dignity, and support during their end-of-life journey. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care, with experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home health environments. Responsibilities Provide direct patient care by assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support. Monitor and observe patients' conditions, documenting changes accurately in electronic health record (EHR) or electronic medical record (EMR) systems while maintaining strict HIPAA compliance. Assist with medication administration under the supervision of nursing staff, ensuring proper dosage and timing. Perform specialized care tasks such as catheter care, Hoyer lift transfers, and Alzheimer's or dementia-specific memory care techniques. Support patients with nutritional needs through meal preparation and feeding assistance while adhering to dietary restrictions. Maintain a clean and safe environment by assisting with laundry, cleaning, and general household tasks to promote hygiene and comfort. Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team members to ensure comprehensive patient care and report any concerns regarding patient observation or condition changes. Qualifications Valid CNA certification with current licensure; prior experience in hospice, long-term care, or home health is highly preferred. Demonstrated proficiency in patient observation, vital signs measurement, and medical terminology. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or memory care needs. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for accurate medical documentation and record keeping. Knowledge of infection control practices including HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy. Ability to operate medical equipment such as Hoyer lifts and perform catheter care safely. CPR certification is required; additional certifications in hospice or palliative care are advantageous. Pay:
$18.00 - $22.00 per hour
