Job Description

Telicos Group is seeking a PRN Nurse Practitioner (s) or PRN Physician Assistant (s) to work in support of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Artesia, NM. Essential functions, responsibility and duties may include, but are not limited to: Obtain medical histories; physical examination including medical surveillance, biocontainment, respirator, commercial driver's license, U.S. Coast Guard, and firefighter Maintain medical support to the Health Unit and Medical Surveillance program Perform blood draws Perform screening exams including vision, hearing, spirometry Dispense travel medications and information Organize and/or participates in agency health fairs Provide health education program Provide immunizations Provide emergency care Provide non-emergency care Maintain a high level of professional responsibility and performance Keeps abreast of all pertinent agency policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified Adhere to all Kadiak, LLC and Koniag policies Ensure that all health unit staff are trained and evaluated on their knowledge of and adherence to compliance policies and procedures specific to their jobs The essential duties as listed above are not all inclusive and other functions may be added dependent upon certain situations. Assures personal compliance with licensing, certification, and accrediting bodies. Works with Clinic physician to ensure operations are consistent with medical and professional standards of care. Participates in quality management processes including encouragement of clinical support staff to assure proficiency in the delivery of clinical support activities. Report site-specific problems to the Clinic Nurse Manager (e.g., staffing difficulties, supply issues, environment of care hazards, onsite operational emergencies, etc.) in a timely manner. May be required to perform in person assessments of COVID positive clients/provides daily telephonic monitoring of clients while in COVID isolation Prescribes medications Willingness to have a collaborative agreement with onsite physician Minimum Requirements/Knowledge/Skills Requires phlebotomy skills Requires computer program proficiency in data entry, use of e-mail, excel spreadsheets and word programs Requires ability to push a wheelchair and/or carry emergency bag up and down several flights of stairs in response to emergencies Requires ability to provide emergency care, administer CPR/AED on the floor/ground
Maintain Bloodborne Pathogen Training Minimum Education Requirements/Certification/Licensures:
NP Graduation from a NLN accredited school of nursing, MSN Graduation for a NLN accredited Nurse Practitioner Program Current RN/NP licensure CPR certification May require Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) training
Minimum Education Requirements/Certification/Licensure:
PA Graduation from an ARC-PA accredited school Pass the Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination (PRANCE) Maintain the PA license required by the state for which hired CPR certification May require Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) training
Additional Requirements :
Have one year field experience within the last three years DEA number required Ability to pass a background check Willingness to complete required training prior to accessing government systems
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift 35 lbs.
Schedule :
PRN or on an as needed basis during clinic hours (6:30am-6:30pm M-F may include occastional weekends).
