Job Duties and Responsibilities:
This position provides support for the School of Nursing's Nurse Anesthesiology program within a newly constructed simulated operating room. The program utilizes this advanced training environment to teach high-level clinical skills using mannequins, task trainers, and fully simulated perioperative experiences. The lab also serves as a practice space for students to refine their skills and as a venue for external partners to conduct specialized training and workshops. When time permits, the individual in this role will also assist with operations and activities in the main School of Nursing Skills & Simulation Center.
  • Assists with daily laboratory operations, including the setup and takedown of equipment, supplies, and moulage, to ensure a positive learning experience for students during skills labs and simulation events.
  • Operates simulation equipment by running pre-programmed scenarios in coordination with faculty instructors to support learning objectives.
  • Troubleshoots issues with lab equipment and related technologies identified by students or faculty; reports unresolved problems to the supervisor to coordinate repairs or technical support.
  • Monitors and maintains supply inventory, proactively notifying the lab coordinator of low stock levels and submitting updated lists of materials required for skills labs and simulation events.
  • Assists with equipment maintenance, including cleaning, minor repairs, and ensuring all simulation and skills lab equipment are in safe and functional condition. Moves mannequins and other equipment as needed for cleaning and sanitization.
  • Maintains current knowledge of simulation technologies, including locating and referencing equipment manuals or online resources for research, operation, and troubleshooting.
  • Performs additional related duties as assigned to support the effective operation of the Nursing Simulation Center.
Qualifications Required Education and Experience:
High School diploma + 1 years of relevant experience, or higher degree.

Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
Physical Effort:
Light physical effort. Effort applies to no more than two (2) hours per day.

No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
