Nursing Assistant Trainee Renown Health United States, Nevada, Reno 1155 Mill Street (Show on map) Jun 07, 2026 Position Purpose This position is time-limited to four (4) months pursuant to
NRS 632.285.
Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, provides or assists in activities of daily living, as well as emotional support to adult, and Geriatric patients. 'Supervision' is defined by the Nevada State Board of Nursing as follows: "Supervision" means direction by a qualified nurse for the accomplishment of a nursing task or activity, including initial direction and periodic inspection of the actual accomplishment of the task or activity. Nature and Scope The incumbent must be knowledgeable of the uses of equipment specific to the area of employment. This position is responsible to annually demonstrate proficiency in body mechanics, fire safety, infection control, patient safety, BLS, and hazardous materials. Under the supervision of a licensed nurse, the incumbent collects data related to the health status of a patient and provides basic information to the licensed nurse to develop a problem list and revise information on the plan of care. This position provides physical care, comfort measures, and emotional support to the adult and geriatric patient population as directed by a professional registered nurse. The incumbent may assist with basic restorative care. This position also provides a safe and healthy patient care environment and completes basic duties as assigned by a licensed nurse. The Certified Nursing Assistant must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on physical, motor/sensor, psychosocial, and safety appropriate to the age of the patient served and meets standards of quality as measured by the unit/department age specific competency standards. This position does provide patient care. Preferred Name Description Education:
iMust have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.
Experience:
Eligibility for enrollment in the affiliated nursing assistant (CNA) training program required for certification as a nursing assistant through a Nevada State Board of Nursing approved Certified Nursing Assistant program. This is through TMCC and part of their nursing assistant (CNA) certification program License(s): None. Certification(s): None Computer /
Typing:
Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computers skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
