Job Description
Founded by the Sisters of Charity of New York, the University of Mount Saint Vincent is an academically excellent, authentically inclusive, Catholic and ecumenical liberal arts university. The Men's and Women's Coach is responsible for providing leadership, organization and administration of the Men's and Women's program Through its School of Professional and Continuing Studies, the University extends its primary undergraduate mission by offering high quality graduate studies in business, education and nursing and an array of undergraduate and certificate programs serving non-traditional students.
Responsibilities:
Provide oversight to both the accelerated and traditional nursing undergraduate programs Direct, perform, insure, and document all activities required and or suggested by external accreditation bodies and appropriate licensing boards/agencies. These activities include, but are not limited to, the preparation of self-studies, annual reports, and mitigation of program deficiencies Serve as contact person for the department with regard to state, professional, and accrediting groups, the community, and other external contact Coordinate curriculum development, review, and comprehensive assessment of curriculum with members of the department that meets accreditation standards. Assure didactic instruction and clinical and laboratory experiences reflect an understanding of the Mount program philosophy, objectives, and curriculum. Monitor and submit annual systematic plan of evaluation (SEP) Schedule and conduct regular, meaningful Nursing Program meetings Advise and support students Participate in scheduling Nursing courses, faculty academic assignments, ordering textbooks, and preparing workload distribution Assure timely interactive department meetings, documentation of minutes with action items and deadline date Validation of student program completion with conferral of degree in preparation of NCLEX exam Inform Nursing Students of opportunities for scholarships, honors, community service, employment opportunities Support the activities of Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society and the Student Nurse Association by soliciting a Nursing Faculty member to sponsor the organization Manage student concerns related to faculty, department, and program Attend and participate in Nursing committee meetings Assist in the development, evaluation, and revision of student admission, progression, retention, and graduation policies Assure departmental facilities, instructional equipment, and supplies are up to date and adequate for Nursing Program Requirements Must have unencumbered, current New York Registered Nurse license Terminal Degree in Nursing from a regionally or nationally accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation Certifies Nurse Educator (CNE) certification Experience of at least five years in the practice of nursing as a registered nurse, two of which have been as a faculty member in a registered nursing education program Evidence of professional development in the field of Nursing Benefits The allotted annual salary for this position is $125, 000 PTO and Sick days Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance Flexible Spending Account (FSA) available Enhanced coverage for short-term disability Long-term disability insurance fully covered by employer Group term life insurance provided by employer Commuter benefits offered Eligibility to contribute to a 403(b) retirement plan Employee Assistance Program availableSimilar jobs in New York, NY
