Job Description

The Nursing Assistant - Wound Care plays a vital role in supporting wound care providers by assisting with patient preparation, documentation, and administrative tasks. Under the supervision of healthcare professionals, this role ensures smooth clinical operations, maintains compliance with healthcare regulations, and collaborates with nursing teams to enhance patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the wound care provider with clinical documentation and data entry into the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system. Ensure patients are properly prepared for consultations, optimizing workflow for the wound care provider. Support patient repositioning during wound care evaluations and treatments as needed. Manage and maintain inventory of wound care supplies, ensuring all necessary instruments are readily available. Work closely with facility nursing teams and providers to coordinate and determine the patient list for wound care consultations. Uphold patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols. Obtain necessary insurance authorizations and verify patient insurance details before the wound care provider's visit. Verify patient insurance information and ensure patient charts and records are accurate and up to date.
Qualifications:
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Medical Assistant (MA) in good standing with the state. Must provide a positive attitude each day and relate favorably with patients and facility staff. Must meet all state and local health regulations and pass a pre-employment exam, criminal background check, and reference check. Must maintain regular job attendance and reliability. Must have reliable transportation to travel to assigned nursing centers. Prior experience in Skilled Nursing Facilities is a plus. Medical billing experience is required.
