Nursing Assistant Job Description Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nursing Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to patients in various care settings, including long-term care, memory care, and acute care environments. This role is crucial in ensuring patient comfort and well-being while assisting nursing staff with daily tasks. The Nursing Assistant will contribute to a positive patient experience by delivering high-quality care and support.
NY STATE LICENSE IS REQUIRED.
Responsibilities Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding. Monitor and record vital signs, such as temperature, pulse, and blood pressure. Provide catheter care and assist with mobility and transfers for patients. Support patients with developmental disabilities by promoting independence and enhancing quality of life. Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to infection control protocols. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members regarding patient needs and progress. Participate in training programs to enhance skills in patient service within various settings such as ICU or teaching hospitals. Skills Strong patient service skills with a focus on empathy and compassion. Experience or knowledge in long-term care, memory care, or acute care settings is preferred. Familiarity with systems used in healthcare for documentation and reporting. Ability to perform catheter care and assist with other personal hygiene tasks. Understanding of the unique needs of seniors and individuals with developmental disabilities. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
