Hours:
19:00 - 06:53 | 3 Nights Per Week We are seeking a reliable and experienced Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) / Nurse Assistant for a correctional healthcare assignment in Rome, New York. This role is based in an inpatient correctional facility clinic providing direct care and clinical support within a secure healthcare environment.
Requirements:
Current, valid CNA license or Nurse Aide certification in New York State (or eligible limited permit). Must meet state requirements for correctional healthcare assignments. Ability to pass state-run Criminal History clearance. Strong communication skills and professional demeanor. Ability to work independently and respond effectively in emergency situations. Ability to follow strict safety, security, and healthcare protocols. Experience in medical-surgical, ambulatory care, mental health, or behavioral health settings preferred.
Responsibilities:
Administer daily medications in accordance with facility protocols. Monitor patient compliance with prescribed medication regimens. Take and record vital signs and perform basic clinical observations. Assist with wound care and other patient care activities. Conduct routine health screenings and assessments. Respond to medical emergencies within the facility. Accurately document patient health information, treatments, and updates. Maintain compliance with correctional facility safety and security procedures. Collaborate with nursing and medical staff to provide quality patient care.
