As a Personal Care Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting patients and their families by delivering personalized care with dignity, respect, and empathy.
Schedule & Location Full-Time, Night Shift Hours:
6:30 PM - 7:00 AM Every third weekend required Based at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center inpatient hospice unit What You'll Do As a Personal Care Specialist, you will work closely with patients, families, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure comfort and quality of life during the hospice journey.
Responsibilities include:
Assisting patients with daily personal care activities and comfort measures Supporting families with patient care needs and education Observing and reporting changes in patient condition to the care team Maintaining accurate electronic documentation of care provided Promoting a safe, respectful, and compassionate environment for patients and loved ones Collaborating with clinical staff to deliver individualized care plans Qualifications High school diploma or GED required Ohio State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred At least one year of healthcare or direct patient care experience preferred Hospice and Palliative Nursing Assistant Certification (CHPNA) preferred; certification support is available for eligible employees Basic computer proficiency and ability to complete electronic documentation Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record Current automobile insurance meeting state requirements Ability to successfully complete a criminal background screening Ability to pass a 10-panel drug screening Why Join Our Team?
