This role is ideal for compassionate individuals who are committed to serving others with dignity, empathy, and respect.

As a Personal Care Specialist, you will play a vital role in helping patients maintain comfort and quality of life. Working closely with families and the interdisciplinary care team, you will provide hands-on personal care while contributing valuable observations and insights gained through your direct patient interactions. Schedule Shifts are from 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Part-time position averaging 24 hours per week Includes a rotating every-third-weekend schedule Based in the inpatient unit at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center Key Responsibilities Assist patients with daily personal care needs in a compassionate and respectful manner. Support family members in caring for their loved ones. Observe and report changes in patient conditions to the care team. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services provided. Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and other hospice professionals to ensure high-quality patient care. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Current Ohio Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential preferred. At least one year of related healthcare experience preferred. Certification in Hospice and Palliative Nursing Assistance (CHPNA) is preferred. Ohio's Hospice provides support and resources for employees interested in obtaining certification. Basic computer proficiency for electronic documentation. Ability to travel and drive safely in varying weather and road conditions. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Proof of automobile insurance meeting state requirements. Successful completion of a criminal background check. Ability to pass a 10-panel drug screening.
