Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Resident Care & Transportation Aide provides resident care and transportation services in support of the health, well-being, and daily needs of the Sisters. This position is responsible for providing safe transportation, coordinating appointments, and offering a compassionate presence. The CNA ensures Sisters are assisted with medical visits, errands, and activities of daily living while honoring their dignity and promoting independence. This position is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong sense of empathy, attentiveness to individual needs, and a commitment to supporting the mission of a faith-based community. The CNA functions as a member of the Sisters of St. Francis Holistic Care Team and assists individual Sisters in fulfilling their potential to live out the mission by encouraging a healthy, balanced, holistic lifestyle and spiritual well-being. The daily administration will model Franciscan leadership; respect for all individuals, empowerment, collaboration, communication, commitment to the growth of others and informed decision making.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
Resident Care and Support Assist Sisters with activities of daily living as needed, within CNA scope of practice Provide attentive, respectful care that promotes dignity, independence, and comfort Observe and report changes in physical, emotional, or mental condition to appropriate staff Provide a supportive and compassionate presence to Sisters in daily interactions Transportation and Appointment Support Coordinate with the Holistic Care Team to ensure transportation needs are met efficiently. Provide safe and timely transportation for Sisters to medical appointments, personal services, and errands Accompany Sisters to appointments as appropriate, serving as an advocate and assisting with communication and follow-up Assist Sisters with entering and exiting vehicles and ensure safety during transport Coordinate and complete pharmacy pickups and other essential errands Scheduling and Coordination Maintain and manage a centralized schedule for transportation and appointments Coordinate a shared ride calendar to maximize efficiency and meet Sister needs Establish and maintain routine schedules for recurring services (e.g., shopping, hair care) Communicate schedules, changes, and updates effectively to Sisters and team members Residential Support (Genevieve House) Assist with light housekeeping and cleaning duties to maintain a safe and orderly environment Support meal preparation and basic cooking as needed Contribute to a welcoming, comfortable, and well-maintained living space Team Collaboration and Communication Work collaboratively as a member of the Holistic Care Team Communicate relevant observations, concerns, and updates to the Director of Congregational Wellness and appropriate staff Participate in team meetings and support coordinated care planning Mission Integration and Professional Conduct Support and uphold the mission and values of the Sisters of St. Francis Demonstrate Franciscan leadership through respect, collaboration, and service Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries in all interactions
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required. Previous experience in long-term care, assisted living, or working with older adults preferred.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
Current State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) certification in the State of Ohio Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of basic nursing assistant practices and resident care principles Ability to safely assist individuals with mobility needs Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to coordinate schedules and manage multiple priorities Effective interpersonal and communication skills Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment Demonstrated compassion, patience, and respect for a faith-based community

From $18.67 per hour
