Job Description
We are currently looking for a Full Time ED CNA/Clerk to join our Emergency Department Team team located at the Chickasaw Nation Medical Center.
Summary:
Provides comprehensive administrative and clinical support to ensure efficient unit operations and quality patient care. Coordinates patient flow activities, maintains documentation and communication systems, manages supply inventory, and performs various clerical functions. Delivers direct patient care assistance and completes delegated clinical tasks under the supervision of licensed nursing staff.
Responsibilities:
Performs supportive tasks related to patient care e.g., referrals to other agencies or departments when indicated, charts vital signs and other patient care data, and coordinates the transportation of patients to other healthcare facilities Answers the phone, transfers call, takes messages and screens calls per guidelines for areas served Uses tracking board to maintain the electronic patient log with accurate times for check-in, triage and room time, and discharge time for all patients Types correspondence, memos, letters, reports and time schedules Enters electronic requests for lab and radiology requisitions as needed Utilizes Electronic Health Record (EHR) to assist physicians with referrals to Medisaw and Cardiology Schedules follow-up appointments and completes prescribed lab, X-ray, and other service requests Obtains adequate and proper blood and urine specimens from patients for laboratory testing Instruct patients on proper test collection and preparation Transports lab specimens to laboratory when necessary Participates in hourly lobby rounding Monitors EMsystems throughout shift, and contact manager/house supervisor immediately with alerts/drills Performs EKGs, FSBS, and transports patients to other departments when needed Notifies nursing supervisors of all transfers out of facility Orders and maintains supply of in-house supplies and forms Adheres to accepted policy and standards of the facility and other regulatory agencies Follows appropriate guidelines based on the age and condition of the patient in collecting specimens for testing Treats all patients and family with care and respect and maintain a cooperative attitude with fellow employees to facilitate quality patient care Maintains positive attitude even in stressful situations and have a strong emotional intelligence and maturity Provides first class customer service to both internal and external customers and responds to inquiries, compliments, and/or complaints with professionalism, courtesy, and efficiency Completes all training and development requirements and participates in continuing education opportunities Works in a collaborative and supportive manner to support the productivity and safety of the work area, team members and customers of all types Maintains a clean, organized work area and ensures a safe environment Maintains and promotes professionalism Punctual and consistent in meeting start time, work schedule, attendance and other assigned work time metrics Adheres to Chickasaw Nation dress code standards Maintains knowledge of and follows all rules, regulations, policies and guidelines for assigned area Performs all other duties as assigned
