Role:
The CNA/Clerk position is a vital role within the healthcare and social assistance industry, combining direct patient care with essential administrative support. Under the direct supervision of licensed personnel, this role provides both direct and indirect patient care activities. The CNA/Clerk assists patients with activities of daily living, delivers personal care and comfort, and helps maintain a safe and clean environment for an assigned group of patients. This position ensures that patients receive compassionate and attentive care while maintaining accurate and organized records to support clinical operations. The successful candidate will act as a liaison between patients, healthcare providers, and administrative staff, facilitating smooth communication and efficient workflow. By performing both clinical and clerical duties, the CNA/Clerk contributes to the overall quality of care and operational effectiveness of the healthcare facility. This position requires a dedicated individual who can balance empathy with attention to detail, ensuring both patient well-being and administrative accuracy.
Minimum Qualifications:
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification recognized in the United States High school diploma or equivalent Basic computer proficiency, including familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems Strong communication skills, both verbal and written Ability to pass background checks and comply with healthcare facility policies
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a healthcare setting, particularly in long-term care or outpatient clinics Additional clerical or administrative training or certification Proficiency with healthcare software such as Epic, Cerner, or Meditech CPR and First Aid certification
Responsibilities:
Provide direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of licensed personnel Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility Provide personal care and ensure patient comfort at all times Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment for assigned patients Monitor and record vital signs; promptly report changes in patient condition to nursing staff Manage patient records, including data entry, filing, and maintaining confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations Schedule patient appointments, answer phone calls, and coordinate communication between patients and healthcare providers Support inventory management by tracking medical supplies and notifying appropriate personnel when restocking is needed

The required skills enable the CNA/Clerk to provide compassionate and effective patient care while ensuring accurate documentation and smooth administrative processes. Strong communication skills are essential for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare teams, facilitating clear and empathetic exchanges.
