Duties Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility using equipment like Hoyer lifts and other assistive devices. Monitor and record vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner. Support medical procedures by preparing patients for treatments such as catheter care, phlebotomy, or medication administration under supervision. Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, ensuring safety and comfort through memory care techniques. Collaborate with healthcare teams in acute care settings such as Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Centers, including ICU and emergency medicine units. Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols using aseptic techniques and HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and safety. Assist with patient transfers using Hoyer lifts or other mobility aids while ensuring proper body mechanics and safety standards. Document patient information accurately in EMR/EHR systems like eClinicalWorks or Cerner to support seamless communication among caregivers. Support patients with developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs by providing compassionate caregiving tailored to individual requirements. Participate in training related to geriatrics, pediatrics, hospice care, or post-acute care environments to enhance your skills and knowledge base. Qualifications Valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification from an accredited program. Prior experience working in long-term care facilities, hospitals (including ICU or trauma centers), assisted living communities, or home health settings is highly preferred. Demonstrated proficiency with medical documentation and familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support (BLS). Experience providing dementia care or working with individuals with disabilities is a plus. Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting patients using Hoyer lifts and standing for extended periods.
